About LD Personal Support Services
LD Personal Support Services is run by Laura Doherty, providing calm, one-to-one personal support and companionship for older adults living independently at home.
Laura has a background working within the NHS as a Healthcare Professional, supporting individuals with a wide range of needs in both clinical and community settings.
This experience has shaped a calm, respectful approach to support — with an emphasis on dignity, consistency, and understanding the person behind the needs.
LD Personal Support Services was created to offer a more personal alternative to traditional care models, with unhurried visits, familiar routines, and the reassurance of seeing the same trusted person each time.
Support is always tailored to the individual, and delivered with sensitivity, patience, and professionalism.
How we work
We believe good personal support is about building familiar, trusting relationships and providing reassurance day to day.
Support is always delivered one-to-one, with consistency and continuity at the centre. We take time to understand routines, preferences, and individual needs, and support is shaped accordingly.
There is no rushing, and no one-size-fits-all approach.
Who we support
We support adults who would benefit from companionship, reassurance, and practical help as part of everyday life.
This includes people who live alone, those who want support to remain independent at home, and individuals who need encouragement to stay active and engaged.
We also support individuals living with memory loss or dementia, as part of a broader personal support and companionship service.
Our values
Our work is guided by simple principles:
• Respect and dignity at all times
• Consistency and reliability
• Calm, unhurried support
• Clear and open communication
• A focus on independence and quality of life
